FSW Calculator: 67 Points Check

Find out if you pass the Federal Skilled Worker Program’s 67-point selection grid. This calculator uses IRCC’s six official selection factors and also checks the minimum requirements that points alone can’t fix.

  • IRCC grid · checked Sept 2026
  • Pass mark · 67 out of 100

1

Language

Factor 1 · up to 28 points. CLB 7 in all four skills is required.

Accepted tests: IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General, PTE Core, TEF Canada, TCF Canada. Results must be less than 2 years old. Need help? Use our IELTS to CLB converter.

2

Education, experience and age

Factors 2, 3 and 4 · up to 52 points.

3

Arranged employment

Factor 5 · 10 points.

For FSW, a job offer usually needs a positive LMIA, or must be LMIA-exempt with the applicant already working for that employer on a valid work permit. These FSW grid points still exist, even though job offer points were removed from the CRS on March 25, 2025.
4

Adaptability

Factor 6 · up to 10 points in total. Tick everything that applies.

Relatives that count: parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew, of you or your spouse. Each item counts once.

5

Proof of funds

Not scored, but required for FSW unless you are exempt.

How the FSW 67-point grid works

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is one of the three programs managed by Express Entry. To be eligible, you must score at least 67 out of 100 on six selection factors and meet the minimum requirements below. The grid only decides if you can enter the Express Entry pool as an FSW candidate. Once you are in the pool, you are ranked by your CRS score, not by these points.

Minimum requirements (points can’t replace these)

  • Skilled work experience: at least 1 year of continuous, paid, full-time work (or 1,560 hours part-time) in one TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation within the last 10 years. It can be in Canada or abroad, and must be in your primary occupation.
  • Language: CLB 7 in all four skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) in English or French.
  • Education: a Canadian credential, or a foreign credential with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
  • Proof of funds: enough money to settle, unless you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer.

Factor 1: Language (max 28)

Points are given for each skill separately in your first official language, plus 4 points if you have CLB 5 or higher in all four skills of your second official language.

Factor 5: Arranged employment (10) and Factor 6: Adaptability (max 10)

A valid job offer gives 10 points under factor 5 and another 5 under adaptability. Adaptability also rewards Canadian ties. Points add up, but the total for adaptability is capped at 10.

How spouse factors work in FSW: unlike the CRS, bringing a spouse never lowers your FSW points. Your spouse can only add adaptability points, up to the 10-point cap.

Proof of funds for FSW

You must show you have enough money to support yourself and your family, unless you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer. Canadian Experience Class candidates don’t need proof of funds. Current IRCC amounts (last updated July 7, 2025):

Funds (CAD)$15,263$19,001$23,360$28,362$32,168$36,280$40,392+$4,112

Family size includes your spouse and dependent children even if they are not coming with you. IRCC usually updates these amounts once a year, so check the current figures before you submit.

67 points is only the first step

Passing the grid lets you create an Express Entry profile as an FSW candidate. Getting invited depends on your CRS score and on which draws IRCC runs. In 2026, IRCC has run no FSW-only or general all-program draws so far. Invitations have gone to Canadian Experience Class candidates, provincial nominees, French speakers and specific job categories. For FSW candidates outside Canada, the realistic routes this year have been:

Proposed change: In April 2026, IRCC consulted on merging FSW, CEC and FST into one “Federal High Skilled” program and removing the FSW 67-point grid. The proposal would also set a single minimum of CLB 6 and allow foreign work experience to count. None of this is in effect yet. Read our Express Entry 2026 guide.
